Join Tribal Net Session with CEO, Chris Johnston
Join Bulletproof CEO, Chris Johnston for his talk about, A New Truth — modern cyber defense requires a united strategy & team approach. The session will cover how establishing a proper IT security budget is one thing, but the choices we make on how to spend that budget are even more critical. Is it better to seek a multi-service capable provider or should we procure multiple “best-of-breed” security solutions thinking that a vendor can only be great at one thing? Historically, the multi-vendor solution created significant complication, costs and administrative overhead to manage multiple agreements, product upgrades and product integrations. Today, most tribes are looking to Managed Security Service Providers or MSSPs to address this challenge effectively given their limited budget and resources. This session is on Sept. 13, at 9:45 a.m. PDT in the Carson 1-2 Room and will help all attendees leave with a better understanding of how they can take steps forward with the right partners to simplify vs complicate their security preparedness world.
Attend the Conference Workshop
On Sept. 15, at 9:30 a.m. PDT join our VP of Information Security Services, Gus Fritschie, and our Principal Security Research & Development, Scott Melnick, who will be offering a three-hour workshop where you will learn a variety of security testing techniques that you can take directly back to your organization to increase your security posture.
The workshop will be a combination of classroom and hands-on. In order to get the most out of the hands-on portion please bring a laptop (with a wireless card) with Kali Linux (https://www.kali.org/) installed, either as a virtual machine or directly on the system. This will allow you to participate in the class exercises. Please install and test this prior to the workshop, there will not be time for troubleshooting support during the session. If you have any questions, please reach out to email@example.com.
The classroom portion of the workshop will cover the testing process, what to do, and more importantly what not to do. It will cover the discovery, exploration and scanning phases of the assessment process. Tools it will cover include Nmap, Nessus, Burp Suite, Metasploit, and Bloodhound.
A test environment will be setup for you to practice what you learn. You will then be able to take these techniques back to your organizations and perform basic, proactive security testing allowing you to identify and remediate vulnerabilities before an attacker does.
