On August 10th our family got smaller. Sara Burns was one of the officers who lost her life on that day in dedicated service to the community. She was devoted to her charities and community, so the Sara Burns Police Memorial Fund was established by her family to honour Sara and give back to the community that she loved so much.

The outpouring of support from the community since the tragic event in Fredericton reminds us how there’s strength in numbers.

In recognition of our co-founder, Steve Burns and the influence his wife, Sara, had on our company and culture throughout the years, Bulletproof will also give back to the community through the Sara Burns Police Memorial Fund. In fact, Bulletproof will match up to $50,000 in funds raised from today September 19, 2018 until October 15, 2018

Sara Burns Memorial Fund

All monies raised for the fund will go to supporting families struck by tragedies in our community and the broader policing community. In addition, a scholarship will be put in place for attendees of a qualified Police Academy.

You can contribute to the Sara Burns Police Memorial Fund through the Fredericton Community Foundation Inc. CanadaHelps page; select Sara Burns Police Memorial Fund from the drop-down menu.

You may also contribute to the fund by purchasing “We’d Rather Have You”; a song written by Steve Patterson, friend of the Burns’ family, as a tribute Sara. First performed at the regimental funeral for Const. Burns and Const. Robb Costello, “We’d Rather Have You” will be available on iTunes and Spotify for $0.99 on Sept. 21. All funds raised through the purchase of the single will benefit organizations that help people in need.
